MADISON, WI – Sheila Briggs, former Assistant State Superintendent of Wisconsin’s Department of Public Instruction, has endorsed Bret Wagner for Madison Metropolitan School Board.
“Having served alongside Bret on the Junior Achievement Board for over five years, I have seen firsthand his unwavering dedication, intelligence, and action-oriented approach to leadership,” said Briggs. “His commitment to evidence-based practices and his interest in using data to track success and make improvements show his forward-thinking approach to education.”
Briggs, a lifelong educator, particularly emphasized Wagner’s background as a former teacher. “He understands the challenges educators face and is a passionate advocate for their needs.”
Wagner’s campaign focuses on excellence through equity, supporting teachers as trusted professionals, and using data to make smart decisions about district resources.
“I’m honored by Sheila’s endorsement,” said Wagner. “Her experience at DPI and dedication to Wisconsin’s students make her support especially meaningful as we work to build stronger schools for every Madison student.”
